The Rose Garden

CRISTA's formal rose garden can be found on the upper campus in Shoreline between the Courtyard’s Ambassador and Crest apartments. This Garden of Memories (Rose Garden) provides a sanctuary where God’s life-giving presence may be experienced by all. The garden was started by residents in approximately 1965 and has been cultivated and nurtured by them ever since. The garden’s care is coordinated by the Courtyard Apartment’s Senior Resident Council. 

The garden showcases 130 beautiful roses. Supporters of the garden can purchase new rose bushes for $75 each to commemorate a loved one, a special friend, or a special event. A plaque is placed in front of each rose bush designating who the rose bush is from and who the rose bush memorializes or honors. 

There are three ways you can help. 

Contribute: 

Fundraising is ongoing to replenish the garden’s endowment fund. These funds are used to replace old rose bushes, buy safety features for the garden, replace borders, etc. Buy a rose bush or make a donation. Contributions are tax deductible. 

Volunteer: 

Whether you have a little time or a lot of time, we always need your help. Residents, regular volunteers, and groups looking to be part of an outreach community all volunteer in our Rose Garden, and we appreciate every effort. Please join us! 

Spread the Word: 

Tell your fellow residents and friends all about the Rose Garden and what it means to you. Invite your friends and family to spend some time with you sitting in the garden’s pergola, enjoying summer nights and each other’s company. Residents, friends, family, neighbors, and students are all welcome. 

If you would like to contribute to CRISTA’s Garden of Memories, please fill out the Rose Garden Fundraising Flyer information and make your checks payable to CRISTA Senior Living, and mail your check to CRISTA Ministries, 19303 Fremont Avenue N, MS-12, Shoreline, WA  98133 with the completed flyer.  Unless you wish to remain anonymous, the Rose Garden Committee would like to personally thank you for your donation.
